Activating your ESET license

How to activate your ESET license: from the license key to active protection, in five steps.

  1. 01 Receive the license keyAfter the quote and payment are confirmed, ESET sends you the license key by email.
  2. 02 Download ESET from the official websiteDownload the installer for your product only from the official ESET website.
  3. 03 Install the productOpen the installer and follow the steps. If you have another antivirus, uninstall it first.
  4. 04 Enter the license keyWhen prompted, choose “Use a purchased License Key” and type the key exactly.
  5. 05 Verify protectionOn ESET’s main screen you should see the status “You are protected” and the expiry date.

Common problems

If activation does not work

The key is not acceptedCheck that the key is typed correctly and that the installed product matches the license.
The license is for another productE.g. a NOD32 key in HOME Security. Install the right product or contact ITSC.
All device slots are usedThe license is active on all allowed devices. Remove a device or extend the license.
The license has expiredRenew the license to continue protection and updates.
